Nancy James is one of METRO/RISK's original employees, joining the firm in 1992 as an account manager. Now in her 16th year in the insurance services field, she has particular expertise in manufacturing and publishing accounts and has client service responsibilities for a variety of accounts including MBH Architects, Rio Vista Promenade, Smith-Emery Company, Prana Investments and Benda Tool and Model Works.

Nancy began her insurance career with Anglo American General and its successor company, United Underwriters. She specialized in impaired risk marketing for life insurance applicants and was responsible for managing the administration and processing of life and disability applications.

In 1987 she joined Frank B. Hall & Co. (later Aon Risk Services) as an account manager, with responsibility for accounts such as Thortec/URS Consultants, Yakima Products, U-Freight International and Sigma Circuits. Specializing in the portfolio management of larger commercial clients, she developed proficiency in all areas of commercial property and casualty insurance and was actively involved in efforts to increase efficiency in client service through database automation.

Nancy was born in southern California and lived in Japan for four years before moving to the Bay Area. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from San Francisco State and received her Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation in 1994. She is active in SGI-USA, an organization that promotes peace through cultural events, foreign exchange programs and various civic activities.
