Brian joined METRO/RISK in 1992 as a vice president, bringing expertise in all forms of Alternative Risk Transfer mechanisms, Directors & Officers and Professional Liability, and International Insurance Program design and management. Brian is currently involved with the insurance programs for Cyveillance, Voxiva, Inc., Motient Corporation and Carey International.
A graduate of the University of Georgia with a business degree from the Department of Risk Management and Insurance, Brian Marx began his insurance career in the risk management department of Gold Kist, Inc., a Georgia agricultural cooperative.
In 1982, Brian joined American International Group (AIG) Companies. He served in a variety of capacities, ultimately as manager of the Downtown New York branch of AIG Risk Management, Inc., the subsidiary widely known for its creativity in the development and design of risk financing programs for large corporate accounts.
In 1986, Brian moved to the brokerage side of the insurance business, accepting a position in the New York office of Johnson & Higgins. During this time, he developed considerable expertise in risk management accounts and was primarily responsible for the acquisition of large clients such as PepsiCo and Amstar Corporation.
In 1989, Brian moved to San Francisco to assume duties as Vice President & Director of Casualty Marketing for Frank B. Hall & Co. of Northern California (later Aon Risk Services). He was responsible for the design and implementation of the casualty insurance programs for such complex accounts as Lucky Stores, DHL, Western Temporary Services, Syntex Corporation and Freedom Communications.
Brian resides in Baltimore with his wife Lisa and their two children. He coaches lacrosse and serves on various neighborhood committees and is also a member of the Surfrider Foundation, an environmental organization dedicated to the preservation of our nation's coastal waters.
