DynCorp, a major government contractor, was faced with numerous asbestos claims for alleged exposures dating back three decades. Due to substantial insurer insolvencies during that lengthy time-span, DynCorp was faced with significant potentially unfunded liabilities. DynCorp turned to Metro/Risk for help. Craig Routson and Mike Enfield consulted closely with the senior management of DynCorp, who ultimately forged a $100 million retroactive liability insurance program to resolve the problem.

At the same time, Marianne Duffy and Brian Marx responded to the ongoing insurance demands posed by DynCorp’s support operations for the United States Department of Defense, and for the United Nations, in such troubled places as Columbia, Angola, Bosnia and Sierra Leone.
