The Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization
This international organization was created pursuant to the multi-national agreement among the governments of the United States, Japan and South Korea. KEDO's mission is to carry out the terms of the 1995 accord between the United States and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for the replacement of graphite nuclear power reactors in North Korea with modern low water reactors, and for the provision of other replacement energy sources.
