AMTRAK
The National Railroad Passenger Corporation, better known as AMTRAK, is the largest transportation enterprise in the world. It was created by act of Congress to operate the nation's passenger rail service, in lieu of the private railroads that had previously provided such service. Amtrak passengers enjoy service in more than 500 communities in 46 states throughout a 22,000-mile route system.
